Now we are going to learn how to draw complicated vector shapes in Photoshop using Venn tools. And that could be very essential for creating very precise selections or even creating vector masks. So here we have that very distant orange roll, it's orange, and let me zoom in so you can see better guys looks more like another's for me. So let's even do more. And let's say would like to select only that one, so it can be throwing a vector path around that one, then we can be converting the vector path, either into selection or vector mask. So let's go ahead and grab our pen tool.

You will be finding that one new tool bars here and before we start guys, it's highly recommended to go ahead and grab your coffee or whatever you would like to drink. As by ending that lesson, you will be fully able to understand how to use pen tools, either in Photoshop or even illustrator, which is really a thing for you if you would like to master these applications. So starting with a pen tool, the most famous one and the most precise one as well. So it can be starting drawing maybe from here, placing our first anchor point, then we can be moving maybe to that curve, clicking and dragging your mouse. And now we will be seeing two handles coming out of your second anchor point as that handle for instance will be controlling that curve. And once we start placing our third anchor point, that second handle will be controlling your cursor in that area.

And you can be controlling these handles by selecting that tool in here. sembly like that, or even you can be selecting your Vin tool once again, then you can be holding on to option key to also switch to the same tool. However, now as you can see that second handle in here is actually affecting our second curve. So don't really need to have that second hundred. So let me undo placing that anchor point. And let's also press Alt or Option key, then we can be removing that handle by dragging that one towards our anchor points.

So that anchor point now has only one handle. Then we're going to be placing our third anchor points over here. And now before releasing my mouse, I'm going to be pressing onto option key to get rid of that second handle in here just to save us time then I'm going to be clicking and dragging to adjust my period. And once I'm happy with that curve, I can be holding on to option key removing that second handle in here. So try always to get rid of that second handle by holding on to option key after drag your anchor points. So I'm going to be completing clicking in here maybe and dragging, adjusting my curve around our shape, then maintaining Alt or Option key, dragging all the way to here.

Maybe we need to keep dragging that one even more to completely get rid of that one. And I'm going to be clicking and dragging just a bit of a slight curve in here. Then I'm going to be clicking Robin here and dragging Removing or second handle by maintaining alter option key. Then I'm going to be clicking in here, just a slide jack, alter option key, removing second handle, then I'm going to be placing a point in here. For some shapes, it's always better to keep your anchor points at minimum points. However, for such a we have a very bumpy Apple as you can see.

So we have to place more anchor points in these forms. Now we're not going to be closing our shape we're going to be stopping in here. And drag them pressing Alt, or option key, removing second handle as usual, then I'm gonna be clicking here, going up. Maybe you can keep that second handle and see what we get. Click and drag again. Moving second hand, we can be moving our points as well by selecting direct selection tool to select only the point within our poll, after selecting my boss, of course, then I can be nudging that one, maybe here.

Going back to 10. Two, or even can be switching to direct selection tool while using pen tool by holding and maintaining Command or Control Which will be giving us the same tool as well, simply like that. I'm going to be hovering over my last point here to get that square next to my mouse, which means that we can be completing the same path. So I'm going to be clicking here and clicking, dragging. Once again, pressing ALT option key, removing that second handle. I'm gonna go all the way to here, all the Option key as usual.

And once which is a start point of our path, we'll be seeing that circle next to our cursor where we can be closing our path. Now we can be making a selection with that path by clicking that button here. And we'll be getting selection options if you'd like to feather that one for instance, then pressing OK now we have selection all can be undoing that. And we can be masking or image creating, in that case, a vector mask by clicking the button in here mask. And you can see that the thumbnail, indicating a vector mask, and you can easily re edit your vector mask by adjusting your anchor points, or can be undoing that pressing Command or Ctrl Z and can be selecting to make shape, which will be creating a vector layer for us. And it can be double clicking that layer to change our vector shape color.

And you can be selecting any of our vector tools or our selection tools to get more controls for our shape, changing our fill color maybe or selecting a stroke color for our shape, and so on and so forth. So now let's go back again Command or Control Z. Now as you can see, guys, we can be creating a video Precise selections in Photoshop. Even if it's not as geometric shape, you can be using bent tools to draw maybe organic shapes like that one. However, let's discover more about other tools. So if we right click in here we can see that we have free form pen tool, which will be simply letting you to draw freeform authors like that.

You like to go with a bent tablet growing over some shape, you can be using that tool, or let me undo that selecting another tool in here, like add or delete anchor points tools. So if you would like to remove any of your anchor points, you can be selecting that tool or simply also by using the pen tool you can be hovering over any of these points to get the same effect removing anchor points. If you have unwanted anchor points, maybe like that one might not be affecting or shaved that much or can be adding ankle points by hovering over any point within our vector path and placing more anchor points. And as usual, you can be adjusting the handles by maintaining Option or Alt key, then you can be adjusting them like that. And also is one more interesting bend tool. It's called the curvature bend tool, it can be right clicking your bend tool, selecting that one, and let's go to that image in here.

And let's say we would like to make a selection of that sweet cherry in here. Very nice looking one. So zooming in, and we can start placing anchor points as well. Then we can be placing our anchor points and maybe another one near and instantly as you can see that this tool will be drawn curves between our anchor points instead of regular straight lines. So don't have to click and drag in that case, we can be placing our anchor points around our shape, and can be adjusting our anchor points according to our curves. So here we have the point, we can be moving that one, maybe a bit to here, or even can be placing more anchor points and dragging that one maybe to here and placing another one.

Actually with curvature tool, you will need to keep placing anchor points to get more accurate and precise results. So can keep placing more anchor points around our shapes, maybe we need one more in here, dragging that one slightly up just a bit, maybe that one too. then selecting that anchor point and placing more points around our shape. Easily like that we are giving a very accurate selection for us, we can be duplicating or background layer. And let's maybe mask that one by selecting that mask option or we can be right clicking while we have our pen tool selected, or even any of our selection tools to get all these options in front of us where we can be creating vector mask, or define that one as custom shape, make selection new guides from shape, fill or stroke and also can be transforming or better. So let's select Create vector mask.

And let me disable that clear so you can see how it looks like zooming out, and let's select our path as well selecting our selection tool clicking anywhere. Now we have a very accurate selection of that noise. Cheers. We can be enabling or background layer again and selecting or mascot layer, then we can go to Image Adjustments, then can be selecting hue saturation, and can be changing that one color, maybe to a greener cherry or something like that, or trying different colors. Or maybe something like that, and we'll be pressing OK. Now it can be disabling that layer to see the difference without the straw without destroying our original layer in a very precise way. And also can be creating maybe a new layer.

And let's maybe fill that one with zero to see how it looks like. We can be disabling our vector mask layer anytime by holding Shift key and clicking on our thumbnail as well. Where you will be temporarily losing your mask or can be Right clicking that thumbnail of our mask, well can be leading that vector mask or striking that one. So let me go back few steps and show you also one more thing on z. Now we are back to that step one, we created our path. Now let's say we would like to add more vector shapes to our path can be simply selecting any of our vector tools.

So maybe let's try that 134 10 two, I'm going to be rotating the canvas pressing or selecting that one. Once again, I'm trying to go over that line in a very quick way. Now by default that people with to shave is edit already to our vector mask. So can be disabling or background layer, pressing maybe more and clicking anywhere to these cells. The back and we have that series selected for us. And let's get our cameras back to its original position, pressing escape, zooming out.

So anyway, that's almost everything about using bent tools, and how we can be using them either for creating selections or vector masks. And now it's highly recommended that you practice that one as well on your PC. So guys, you will be finding these two images in your resources. The cherry image along with the apple image and a scarf creating vector masks out of these schools.
